海鸥饭店的地理位置得天独厚。饭店共12层，定的豪华江景房，在饭店11层，从窗口就能望见对岸的东方明珠等有名的建筑，黄浦江和吴淞江的融汇处，感觉就像住在江上，外滩过了外白渡桥就是，三五分钟步行可到。房间设施很一般，比较老旧。屋子不大，略显拥挤，卫生间很小，淋雨池紧挨着坐便，用一个浴帘隔开；洗脸池旁有直饮水，打开龙头，水小的可怜，流两滴就没了。因为只住了一晚，没有感受到其他服务。早晨退房时遇见一位老外在问前台渡江到浦东事宜，前台听不懂，磕磕巴巴用英语将客人推到礼宾部，礼宾部一句英语没说，示意国际友人问前台，最终我给他指了路，分享了来沪游玩经历。从我们头晚入住到第二天离店，服务人员对客人倒是一直很有礼貌，老饭店人的基本素质不错，硬件设施倒是可以提高，不过价格也会相应涨很多吧。对于寸土寸金的外滩边上的饭店，想看江景、又不调房间大小的话，相比下海鸥饭店已经很低了，短住推荐选择。
